Autumn Festival, 2012
Winning the Best Abstract Award at the Fine Art League of Cupertino was exciting, rewarding and encouraging. This abstract began with the notion of a festival where I used warm colors to cheer our hearts. Having laid out a value sketch with the proper composition and design, I started filling in the subjects relating to the theme. While it is exploratory, I find this the most rewarding part of the process as the painting progresses and evolves.
